I am not your perfect mexican daughter art
For this project, we had to take elements from the book we read I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter. We chose our themes for the project, and then made an art piece to represent them. I chose Cultural Gaps and Mental Health Issues. In my art piece, I drew the silhouette of Julia, the main character in the book, to represent how she was dealing with mental health issues. to then expand on that, I drew other silhouette talking in her ear, and different negative thoughts she would be having in her head. I then drew a divider down the middle and put mexico on one side, representing her past and her roots, and America on the opposite side, representing her future and new life.
